Atlanta Life Insurance Company (ALIC) enlisted Flowers Communications Group to craft a fresh campaign showcasing its new partnership with NBA legend and entrepreneur, Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Our campaign tapped into the rich history of ALIC, in collaboration with the Herndon Foundation, to honor the company’s founder, Alonzo Herndon. This partnership celebrated ALIC’s legacy while spotlighting Magic Johnson’s longstanding support for Black business.

Leadership in Multicultural

Our campaign to reintroduce ALIC was anchored by a multi-tiered strategic framework designed to generate awareness, foster affinity, and celebrate the company’s profound legacy. We organized the “Legacy Lab” financial literacy event for youth at the historic Herndon Home Museum and curated a VIP reception hosted by Magic Johnson. Additionally, our three-minute video, “Legacy in Motion,” highlighted ALIC’s rich history and commitment to community empowerment.

Optimal Engagement

We connected with Atlanta’s influencers, small business owners, and community organizations through the “Legacy Lab” event, inspiring youth to embrace empowering identities like Future Mogul, CEO, Legend, and Innovator, with guests like Tip “T.I.” Harris. The VIP reception, featuring over 150 community leaders, including Magic Johnson, Mayor Andre Dickens, and celebrities like Jermaine Dupri and Kandi Burruss, celebrated the Herndon success story.

Winning Outcomes

The campaign was highly successful, attracting over 300 attendees, distributing branded giveaways, and offering free haircuts, in tribute to Herndon’s barbering business. Our brand video garnered widespread positive reception across multimedia platforms, while the VIP reception, attended by Atlanta’s elite, achieved over 300 million media impressions nationally and locally.
